The Army was the original source of the V-Disc records, with their first being issued in October of 1943.The Armyâs V-Disc project provided a monthly 'care' package of music especially recorded for troops overseas. I have great affection for this 1942 Temple: wonderful music, Carl Bernard's and Bernadette Hodgson's exquisite pronunciation, and lots of theatrical fun. “Carl Bernard stars as Paul Temple and Bernadette Hodgson as his wife Steve. [audio]The Slide
BBC sci-fi radio drama from 1966. Unearthly mud, with a will of its own, causes havoc in the town of Redlow. There are pitifully few British or BBC vintage radio recordings on archive.org either because the BBC didn’t have the foresight to record the vast majority of broadcasts (tantamount to cultural vandalism in my view), or, Scrooge-like, the Beeb is extremely possessive of copyright, demanding extortionate payment for CDs and the like.

ENCORE THEATER Encore Theatre is perhaps one of those overlooked dramatic anthologies that deserve a deal more attention than they have generally achieved. You will find the series has a medical thread running through it and is in fact a highly compelling and sympathetic series of well-produced, medical-themed dramas. Within the stories, you get a great deal of medical history into the bargain. While the theme ties them all together, you will find these 13 productions stand on their own as good...
